For all the almond lovers out there, did you know that without bees you wouldn’t get almonds?
Bees are essential to the production of almonds as they collect pollen from the male anthers of one flower and deposit pollen on to the female ovaries of another flower. This fertilisers the flower so it can set seed and produce the almond.
Lucky for you our bees are currently working hard to pollinate the almond flowers that will produce a fresh crop of almonds. After almond pollination our bees will head to orange groves at Waikerie where they will begin to collect the much loved Orange Blossom honey.
